A typical Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapy session can be an office based appointment at our Downtown Clinic, or at The Ranch in our onsite treatment room, or in the natural environment of the barn. Your therapy session could also take place at The Ranch on the back of a horse. These therapy sessions with the horses do not teach riding skills; rather the goals are geared towards independence with activities of daily living and increased participation in family, school, and community life.
Early Intervention Early intervention in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy is crucial for promoting faster recovery, preventing complications, and maximizing long-term outcomes for individuals of all ages. By addressing issues promptly, these therapies can significantly improve physical and mental well-being, enhance independence, and potentially reduce long-term healthcare costs. Intensive Therapy The Intensive Therapy Model is a rapidly growing medical treatment for children living with neurological and genetic disorders. Research has shown strong evidence for intensive therapy improving function and plasticity. Weekly Therapy Weekly Therapy is common in Occupational, Physical and Speech-Language therapy services. It allows for consistent support, establishes a strong therapeutic relationship, and enables therapists to effectively address the client's needs and progress. Weekly sessions provide a predictable schedule, facilitate continuity in treatment so there is no need for lengthy reporting on events between therapy sessions, and allow for ongoing adjustments to the intervention plan. Weekly Physical, Occupational, or Speech-Language Therapy sessions are common and can be tailored to individual needs, typically lasting 30-60 minutes. The frequency can vary, with some individuals attending 1-2 times per week, while others may have sessions every other week, depending on their specific goals and the therapist's recommendations. |
